ACTUALLY... |
I don't know how many people quite realize why they blog. It's definitely not the creative satisfaction (creative? random outpouring of the mechanisms of your mind? I don't think so) It definitely isn't lucrative, leading you instead to throw away hours that anybody would assure you can be spent better in a million ways. And it is obviously not because anyone cares enough to read it...
And then it hit me. What all of us bloggers do is write something- anything, actually- then hope that someone out there with nothing better to do, apparently, comes upon our blog and comments!
These comments vary. They could be the "Hey, I read your blog (after you annoyed me for days on end...)" which needless to say, is extremely annoying. Then you have some polite ones, "Hmm, nice template, title, post" whatever. These come from people on whose blog you've painstakingly commented, and they are merely returning the favour. The best ones are the ones from people you've never seen. It makes you realize your blog is actually available on the Net and not malfunctioning like you think it is... And finally you have anonymous comments. The weird anonymous comments. The ones that make you wonder if people really have nothing better to do than torture others.
Still, no matter what the comments are, there really is nothing quite like going to your blog and seeing a "7 comments" where earlier there was a "6 comments"! And so we go on writing...

haha so here's the 1st comment to start off the chain. under usual circumstances this would rate as an 'annoying' comment, but since we're blogger fwends already, I'm at liberty to write this, what?

i had once written a very long and sentimental post on why i blog and i was almost linking it here but remembered just in time that it'd be too presumptuous to think you will want to read it at all.
each of our versions is slightly different from all the others anyway.
and yessir to the people-you've-never-seen category of commenters =D

Hmm, nice template... Just kidding, really it IS nice but what I actually wanted to say is that I love blogs like yours where there are not only words but also pictures to give you a glimpse of another person's life on the other side of the world... keep posting!

just poppin' in to say that actually many bloggers use it for creative satisfaction 'cause i 've been to some blogs where the ppl put up thier poems and even photography and many publishing houses are on a contsant check to find talents in these blogs.....by the way i know u r refering to that bugging guy who bugged u and said read charles dicken. ha ha ha ha ha ziah

Writing poems. Creative. Photography. Artistic. But the whole point of blogging is that you hope others see it and comment, and if it's a publisher, why that's even better!

Amen!
And I just saw J visited and called you kiddo... kill him.

Fellow fifteen year olds are quite hard to come by, aren't they? I blog because I love rambling and yes, nothing can be compared the euphoric feeling of getting a comment. Except clicking an extremely satisfying picture, of course.
