POURING FORTH
Blogging's immensely popular these days, rampant among all groups. Though the exact figures escape me at the moment, rest assured, they are enormous.
It makes me wonder, is there an essential need among humans to express themselves to others, which is not confined merely to everyday conversations, but a desire to pour forth torrents of opinions? For, many of the blogs I've come across blabber about personal opinions.
Of course, many people start blogging because its 'in'... and abandon it after some time, when the romance wears off. So many blogs just lie abandoned, cluttering up the virtual space (the fact that they are unwilling to simply delete them is telling, too)
But for the most part, it's to express oneself that blogs are started and continued. People are so welcoming of anonymity, and the ability to escape all censure and teasing while pouring out their thoughts.
But what is surprising is that they wouldn't want to do it through diaries... perhaps the thought of destructible and deletable evidence is just more compelling. Finding other people with similar interests is also a factor.
To me, it seems that most people are lonely...

PS I merely started my blog to keep writing regularly, writing being my passion and blogging being extremely convenient.

If knowing oneself is really proof of not knowing oneself this part of the profile is so pointless...
